Mango Melt is Freiburg’s affordable art market, running since Summer 2025. What started as a simple idea has now grown to its 10th edition. It has become a meeting point for artists, art lovers, and curious minds who want to experience and support the local art scene.

The Story Behind Mango Melt

Mango Melt was created and partly sponsored by Freiburg-based Indian artist Kaustav Majumdar.

After living and working in cities like Berlin, Amsterdam, and Zürich, he experienced how strong and active art communities can shape a city’s identity. Since moving to Freiburg in 2020, he felt the need to create a more connected and vibrant art scene here.

Mango Melt was born from that vision:
A space where artists, collectors, influencers, and art lovers can meet directly — without barriers.

Why You Should Attend

If you love art, international culture, and supporting local creativity, you should be there.

Mango Melt is not just about buying art.
Your presence matters. Your conversations matter. Your social media shares matter.

Instead of bringing a generic gift to the next birthday, wedding, or WG party, bring something unique created by a local artist.

Even if you don’t buy anything — come, take pictures, share the event, and help the artists grow.

Art survives through community.

How You Can Support Mango Melt

Mango Melt is donation-based. We don’t generate profit from it, and we rely on community support.
Here’s how you can help:
-
Book our arty selfie stand for your private or office summer party (branding possible).
-
Connect us with cafés or galleries that might want to host future editions.
-
Organize a small art-learning group — our artists are happy to guide weekly sessions.
-
Make a donation at the event.
